An Oath To Eternity
Welcome to Aevum!
A WORLD OF ANCIENT EMPIRES, LIVING GODS, AND HISTORY WAITING TO BE WRITTEN
An Oath to Eternity begins in a Roman-inspired empire where Senate power, divine worship, academy training, family legacy, and forbidden magic shape the lives of children born too close to history.
In Aevum, gods are not distant myths.
They interfere.
They choose sides.
They whisper through relics, bloodlines, patrons, and power.
Claudia Augustus is pulled toward an imperial future she was never ready to inherit — and toward the ancient god pressing against the edges of her mind.
Driana Ferona, daughter of one of the Empire’s most powerful religious figures, is fighting the life others have designed for her before she even understands how deeply she is tied to the world’s fate.
Raylan Trisval, son of a general, enters the Imperial Academy desperate to become more than his family name — only to find himself standing at the edge of a war that will reshape everything he thought he understood.
This is the first step into Sai Xande’s larger fantasy universe: a world of ancient-inspired civilisations, active pantheons, patron-based magic, political conflict, divine ambition, aircraft in an ancient age, and characters whose choices will echo across books, cultures, gods, and eras.
HIGHLIGHTS
A Roman-inspired opening empire built around Senate politics, divine authority, academy life, family legacy, rebellion, and war.
The beginning of a larger fantasy universe shaped by civilisations inspired by the ancient Romans, Greeks, Aztecs, Celts, Sumerians, and more.
Gods and goddesses are active forces in the world — not distant mythology, but powers with agendas, influence, worshippers, rivalries, and consequences.
A magic system built around individuals drawing power from their patrons.
An ancient-world level of technology, reimagined with mythic aircraft and divine influence rather than medieval fantasy conventions.
A character-driven saga where Driana and Raylan’s bond evolves across the trilogy from friendship, to fracture, to something far more complicated.
A trilogy that establishes two of the world’s defining heroes — and the origin of one of its darkest figures.
Perfect for readers who love ancient history, mythology, political fantasy, academy tension, morally complicated characters, divine power, long-form character arcs, and worlds that feel larger than one book.

Book 1: An Oath To Eternity
She inherits an empire — and the god who would devour it.
When the Aeternarch is slain, Claudia Augustus takes the crown before she can finish her final year at the Imperial Academy. Young, grieving, and surrounded by senators waiting for weakness, she turns to her father’s forbidden creation, the Aegis of Eternity, a ward meant to shield the Empire from rebellion, demons, and the old powers stirring at its borders.
But salvation has a voice... and a price.
And it is whispering in her mind.
At the Academy, Driana Ferona is trying to fit in after outrunning the massacre that almost cost her brother and shattered her faith in the Empire. Raylan Trisval, son of the Empire’s greatest general, is searching for a place to belong after the gods reject him — and an older, wilder god answers instead. Bound by rival legacies, dangerous magic, and a connection neither of them expected, they are pulled toward a war that will test every loyalty they thought they understood.
As demon-forged rebels rise from the ice and a lost relic vanishes into enemy hands, Claudia, Driana, and Raylan are drawn into the same impossible conflict.
One empire. Three vows. A crown that demands everything. And a power that may save them all, if it does not consume them first.
Book 2: An Oath’s Reckoning
Coming in 2027
Two years after the events of An Oath to Eternity, the Empire is still bleeding — and the first signs of its next disaster have already begun to fall.
What seemed like harmless snow over Aevi City has become something far worse. An endless winter, a starving capital, and a curse no one yet knows how to break.
Claudia Augustus remains trapped between a hostile Senate, enemies plotting her overthrow, and Satre waiting in the deepest corners of her mind for the moment she finally breaks.
Driana Ferona, with Kaye and the Speculatores Legion at her side, ventures into the Ioxerial jungles and toward the dark city of the god Tezcatlipoca, searching for answers that may be the Empire’s only hope.
Raylan Trisval marches with his father’s Imperial Legion into the forests of Cimbri, where the allies of his own Taulican people wait beneath the rule of the Fae-Queen.
Will they see him as one of their own — or only as another imperial coloniser?
The reckoning begins in 2027.
Book 3: An Oath To A Usurper
Coming in 2028
Set after An Oath’s Reckoning, the final book in the opening trilogy will bring Claudia, Driana, and Raylan’s first saga to its breaking point — and open the gates to the wider world of Aevum.
Some oaths save empires.
Some create usurpers.
